Kindergarten:
The unit objectives are:
- learn the name for school places : la clase, el patio, el comedor, el bano, la oficina
- learn the name of school supplies: el lapiz, el papel, la silla, la mesa
- learn the words to describe classroom activities: escribe, dibuja, colorea, respond to actions with the correct gesture
First Grade:
The unit objectives are:
- identify people and places in a school: Example: La maestra esta en la clase. Respond to questions.
- describe what school supplies students have: Example: Yo tengo un lapiz rojo.
- increase the vocabulary for classroom objects and actions related to school/games
Second Grade:
The unit objectives are:
- talk about school activities, asking and answering simple questions
- describe when we do ceratin activities using the days of the week
- learn to tell time on the hour
- increase the vocabulary for classroom objects and actions related to school/games
Third Grade:
The unit objectives are:
- talk about activities and hobbies they enjoy, engage in scripted conversations
- describe the school day and schedule, ask and answer questions
- tell time on the hour, half hour and 15 minutes
- increase the vocabulary for school activities and hobbies
Fourth Grade:
The unit objectives are:
- ask and answer questions regarding how they spend their free time
- describe activities they like and dislike
- give and get information about events and activities
- tell time on the hour, half hour, quarter hour and minutes
- increase the vocabulary for school activities and hobbies, ask questions to gain information
Fifth Grade:
The unit objectives are:
- describe classes and activities using adjectives that match gender and number of the noun, ask and answer questions
- discuss the school and after-school schedule using days of the week and time, engage in original conversations
- create stories using the vocabulary of the unit
- memorize the Pledge of Allegiance
